Happy astrological new year, everyone! The Equinox is upon us, which means that the sun has now moved onto Aries.  This day marks the collective energy for the next three months and here is some information about what can be expected.

We first have to acknowledge one of the most important factors of today’s alignments – the fiery sign of Aries.  Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and as such, it is the sign that represents the “I” within us. Who am I? What do I want? What do I need?  People born under this sign can sometimes get a bad reputation because they’re generalized as being selfish.  While the lower vibration of the Aries energy is definitely possible, not just in native Arians, but in all of us, the concept of “I” can be looked at much differently with a higher level of consciousness. The “I” can be seen as, “how can I take care of myself so that I can give more to those around me?” “What do I need to heal within me, so that I can attract better relationships into my life?” “How do I take full responsibility for my current state in order to change it?” With a much higher level of consciousness and purpose, the concept of “I” changes for everyone, not just us.

One of the alignments in this year’s Equinox chart is that the Sun in Aries in conjunct Chiron in Pisces.  They are apart by two degrees and, even though, they are in different signs, the conjuncting energy is still valid because of the New Moon in Pisces we just had a few days ago.  What does all of this mean in English? Well, I’ve already explained what the energy in Aries is. Now, the Chiron in Pisces energy can be simplified into healing a wound before moving forward.  This is because Chiron in astrology is known as the wounded healer and it represents a karmic wound we are meant to grow and learn from in this lifetime. Being that Chiron is currently in Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac, something has to fully end before something new can begin.  Don’t get confused when I use the phrase “healing a wound,” because while some of you might, in fact, be healing from something physical and emotional before moving forward, the overall point is that something must fully end before something else can begin.  Like I mentioned in this week’s forecast, intentions could have definitely been set for the New Moon in Pisces but, since Pisces is also represents fantasy which can result in lack of clarity, those intentions need to be liberated from fantasies that won’t allow them to be built on realistic plans. We can take advantage of the creative energy Pisces gifts us with, we can even dream in a Pisces like fashion, but we cannot lie to ourselves about the work it will take to accomplish what we envision.

All of this is further emphasized by the fact that Venus and Mercury are conjunct in Aries at the time of the Equinox.  This means that while a lot is being let go of (Piscean energy), you desire and your thoughts are aligned to make something happen.  You have a plan for that desire, how are you going to execute? Also, since Aries is the opposing Libra (sign of Other and relationships) and Venus (ruler of Libra) is in this mix, this can mean that information or collaboration from someone else can help propel you to a different level of your intention or dream.

Finally, at the time of the Equinox, the Moon was transiting Taurus; creating earth trines to both Saturn and Mars in Capricorn.  Taurus is the sign of slow moving tenacity, much like Capricorn energy.  Being that they are earth signs they always seek stability no matter how long it takes to obtain.  They would rather do things right, even if it takes long because, in the long run, that is what lasts.

The next three months are about letting go of that which keeps you from creating a more solid foundation for yourself.

As always, keep a lookout for my daily Instagram and Facebook posts as I explain the daily energy and how you can use it.
