Happy Monday! This week’s forecast continues with the ongoing Pluto-Capricorn energy that has been so active all month – and will continue to be. But now we’re getting a little more Uranus energy in the mix, helping us break our own habitual patterns to be courageous enough to go after what we want. Also, keep in mind that it’s been less than a week since the beautiful and powerful new moon in Capricorn. Have you been putting in a little bit of work each day towards your authentic, heart felt intentions? Capricorn energy asks you to do it so that you don’t miss out on the amazing energy aiding you to build a brand new future for yourself. I’m a true believer that a little a day, goes a long way. I know that I’ve written a lot on my Instagram about the Pluto-Capricorn energy, but I have to! I have to because it’s energy that is active and it’s what you need to be reminded of so that you can take advantage and grow within.

In order to talk about the week ahead, we have to take it back in time. We started 2018, on January 1st to be exact, with a full moon in Cancer. The ruler of Cancer is the Moon; therefore, making this already emotional event, an even more emotional one. Why? Because the Moon rules Cancer and in astrology they represent home. Not just the physical four walls around us, but what we consider familiar and comfortable within us, as well. The Moon in our own birth charts represents what fulfills us emotionally.  A full moon signifies endings or cutting the cord (like when a mother births a child and the umbilical cord is cut) with what we have known for a while in order to evolve. It’s like moving out of mom’s house (the moon and Cancer represent the mother) for the first time into our own home and building our own nest. Or leaving the job/career that has been familiar for a really long time, but no longer serves our growth because, well, change happens.

That’s how 2018 started. We were emotionally urged to move from the cozy emotional home we built in a particular area in our lives, to build (Capricorn energy) something new. Fast forward two weeks later to January 16th to the New Moon in Capricorn (which I wrote about last week), which asked us, “now that you’ve identified what you want to let go of in order to grow, what are you going to actually do to build the new life you envision?” That’s where our New Moon intentions came into play. What are you going to do?  I understand that letting go of something we’ve been emotionally tied to for a long time can be difficult to let go of. Most of everything we see and have in our physical reality has some type of emotion tied to it because we identify so much with what we have and who we think we are. Sometimes to the point of not moving forward because we feel that if we change anything about our “home,” then we lose ourselves. That may be momentarily true because change can cause confusion, initially. But are you willing to remain the same simply because you can’t hold momentary discomfort? Deep down you know that, in time, the discomfort will dissipate and you’ll adjust to your new groove. I’m bringing this to the forefront of your mind because I had to ask myself the same question. How much longer am I going to inhabit a “home” that, through self-work, self-awareness and self-love, I have outgrown? How can I remain the same and be indifferent to the brand new me that is emerging after seeking it myself? It’s funny how a lot of us say we want change, and we work for it, pay for it, seek it to no end; but once it’s in our face, we want to run away so badly because it’s unknown territory. I get it, it’s scary. But the beautiful thing about the cosmos, is that there is energy greater than us guiding us to move forward, despite the fear.

The building power available to us comes from Pluto in Capricorn and Jupiter in Scorpio. Those two energies will play well with each other most of the year. Again, giving us the opportunity to dig for that power within us to keep moving. Keep doing a little each day to create what we want to see.

This week is about seeing how our lives, or our “home,” will change once we’ve taken responsibility for building what we envision. On a daily basis, will you have to get up an hour earlier in the morning before the day job to invest on the side project? Or will you invest some time after the day job? Will you and your significant other make it an effort to go to therapy once a week to rebuild the relationship? Will you stick to the exercise regimen you said you’d stick to? How will all of this change your life and relationships on a daily basis? It’s one thing to think about what you want and have it look so pretty in your mind. But it’s completely different to practice whatever it is you need to practice on a daily basis. This seems like common sense, but with the energy available in 2018, it becomes very real because Saturn (the planet of discipline and commitment) is in its home sign of Capricorn. It would be a shame to miss out on this cosmic opportunity to, at the very least, lay the foundation for years to come.

This week asks us to look at the details because Mercury in Capricorn is extremely active. Mercury conjuncts (unites with) Pluto in Capricorn, sextiles (to flow with) Jupiter in Scorpio, and squares (tension that leads to action) with Uranus in Aries. This means that the three big guys, Pluto, Jupiter and Uranus are all conversing with one another through the Mercury (aka, the sky’s messenger). This entire dynamic continues to remind us that we have the power to create change (Jupiter sextile Mercury), but we have to break free (Uranus in tension with Pluto and Jupiter) before moving forward. Close the door to the “home” you knew, to build a new home.

The stars tell us a story. It’s important to follow it because it helps give us context to whatever is it we’re feeling. Follow the story, follow the energy and know that you are guided towards that which you envision.
